The 23rd National Neuroscience Congress

As the laboratory team, we participated in the congress with oral and poster presentations. Our graduate students, Fatma Rabia Çibir and Fatma Güver, received the third-best poster presentation award for their TÜBİTAK project. The findings of our initial study on the integration of virtual reality and EEG in our laboratory were shared, and the PanaromicWeb team provided a VR experience for those who wished to participate.

National Psychology Graduate Students Congress (UPLOK)

We hosted the National Psychology Graduate Student Congress in our department on September 5-7, 2024.

Our congress was very productive and colorful with our valuable guest lecturers and participants.

While the most important and interesting topics from all areas of psychology were discussed at the congress, current topics such as remote connection systems that enable connection to another corner of the world, VR technology and artificial intelligence were also included.

28th National Psychology Students Congress

We attended the 28th National Psychology Students Congress held between 19-21 August with a poster presentation.

Psychoposter Days 2024

As part of the Cognitive Psychology course, our students prepared posters about their own research and presented them at the entrance of Akdeniz University's Faculty of Letters.

Brain Awareness Week 2024

As part of Brain Awareness Week, our laboratory and the Psychology Research and Application Center organized several events on March 18-19. On the first day, we organized a Brain Awareness booth featuring a variety of content, including mini-experiments created by our laboratory team, brain awareness souvenir frames, and stickers. On the second day, Yunus Emre Türkmen, a METU Cognitive Psychology graduate student, gave a presentation titled "Perception of Aliveness and Neural Activation," and Fatma Güver and Zehra Aycil, students in the Akdeniz University Neurobiopsychology Program, presented "Brain Awareness: Vegetative State, Coma, and Brain Death." Following the presentations, a competition themed "Brain" was held, in which our department students participated.

We participated in the 1st National Neuroimaging Congress held between September 7-9 with a poster presentation.

Brain Awareness Week 2023

Our department organized two different types of activities as part of Brain Awareness Week. The first activity introduced high school students to basic brain structure and functions, the brain-stress relationship, the potential causes of stress, and stress management. Various experiments and exercises demonstrated the surprising aspects of the nervous system. The second activity introduced kindergarten students to the fundamental structures of the brain through entertaining language and games.

Brain Awareness Week 2022

As part of Brain Awareness Week, the basic functions of the brain were explained to kindergarten students using a presentation and a brain hat. The children also examined the lobes of the brain and painted them.

Fechner Day 2019 35th Annual Meeting of the International Psychophysical Society

Painting and Crafts Workshop on the Human Brain

From May 15-19, 2017, researchers Felix Ströcken and Stephanie Lor from the Department of Biopsychology at Ruhr-University Bochum came to our department and organized the "Painting and Crafts Workshop on the Human Brain." The goal was to help students learn neuroanatomy more effectively by drawing and building brain models with play dough.

2017 APA President Prof. Antonio Puente visited our department from the National University of Ireland Galway Department of Psychology and gave a lecture. Dr. Mark Elliot (NUI Galway) also gave a lecture in our department.
