Evrim GÜLBETEKİN
Prof. Dr. Evrim Gülbetekin is the director of the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at Akdeniz University. She served as the founding department head of the Akdeniz University Psychology Department between 2013 and 2019, and as vice dean of the Faculty of Letters between 2019 and 2021. She is currently the head of the Experimental Psychology Division within the Psychology Department.
Her research interests include social cognition, facial perception, emotional expressions, mirror neuron system, multisensory perception, prefrontal functions, and hemispheric asymmetries. She designs experiments with humans and animals using different methods such as EEG, EMG, GSR, fMRI, VR-EEG integration, and behavioral methods.

I graduated from the Department of Psychology at Akdeniz University in 2022 and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in the Neurobiopsychology program at Akdeniz University. My primary research interests include face perception and emotional expressions. In addition, I am working on emotion recognition in ALS patients. Fatma GUVER

I am a master’s student in the Neurobiopsychology module of the Department of Psychology at Akdeniz University. My research interests include face perception, emotional expressions, recognition memory, VR–EEG integration, and computational neuroscience. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Evrim Gülbetekin, my thesis investigates human face perception through a computational model. In addition, I am conducting a TÜBİTAK-funded project entitled “The Effect of Tactile Stimulation of the Face on the Recognition of Emotional Facial Expressions in Autism Spectrum Disorder."

Fatma Rabia ÇİBİR

I graduated first in the Department of Psychology and ranked second in the Faculty of Letters at Akdeniz University. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same department, within the Neurobiopsychology module. My research interests include EEG-based investigations of face perception, emotional expression, and tactile processing, as well as psychiatric, neurodevelopmental, and neurocognitive disorders. I am leading a research project entitled “The Effect of Tactile Stimulation of the Face on the Recognition of Emotional Facial Expressions in Autism Spectrum Disorder,” supported by TÜBİTAK.

I am a master’s student in the Neurobiopsychology module. Since my undergraduate years, I have been actively involved in laboratory studies. Currently, I am working on my thesis, which examines attention in virtual reality and computer screen environments through the P300 component elicited by auditory oddball paradigms. I am particularly interested in how the human brain manages its limited resources, with a focus on attention and memory.
